WASHINGTON, April 16, 2022 – Firehouse Jams, LLC, an Erwinna, Pa. establishment, is recalling approximately 3,819 pounds of thermally processed, commercially sterile, uncured bacon marmalade products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The uncured bacon marmalade with oranges and balsamic caramelized onions product was produced on various dates prior to April 18, 2022. The following product is subject to recall [view labels]:
The product subject to recall bears establishment number “EST. 47682” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were sold online and shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered when FSIS was notified by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of a complaint received through the OIG’s hotline. FSIS investigated the complaint and determined that the products were produced in an establishment that was not inspected by FSIS.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or pantries. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. Blackwing Organic Meats beef and pork products were produced and distributed without USDA inspection, including ground beef, steak, and stew meat. Uninspected meat may contain harmful pathogens and is unsafe to consume.
Ghanaianway Restaurant and Grocery LLC's Salted Lamb products were produced without USDA inspection. The safety and quality of these products cannot be verified.
Quality Poultry & Seafood, Inc. recalled various frozen catfish fillet products produced without federal inspection. Products that bypass inspection may pose unknown food safety risks.
Sabrositos Hondurenos recalled various chorizo and pork products including smoked chops and ribs because they were produced without USDA inspection. These uninspected meat products may pose food safety hazards.
